Marie draws inspiration for her ceramics from sketches, paintings, and prints created during her regular visits to the coast and strolls through the local countryside. 

Her work features a mix of stoneware and porcelain clays. The majority of pieces are crafted on the wheel and then undergo alterations.  Further techniques and finishes are then applied with the intention to capture the essence of the landscape.

For Marie, the journey of experimenting with various clay bodies, surface finishes and the development of new glazes from raw materials is an ongoing practice of learning and discovery.
