Marie’s journey with clay began back in school, where she first learned to throw and even explore raku firings. This passion led her to Middlesex, where she completed a Degree in 3D Design, working in clay, wood, metal, and glass.

As a teenager, Marie developed a love for modern architecture, and during her time at Middlesex her creative focus began to shift towards working with wood, metal, and glass. Graduating with a Master’s Degree at the Royal College of Art, she concentrated on designing contemporary furniture, with a piece from that era now in the permanent collection at the V&A.

Today, she works full-time from her studio in Royal Tunbridge Wells, channelling inspiration into ceramic pieces that reflect landscapes, the sea, shorelines, and the captivating effects of water erosion. She works with stoneware and porcelain clays, developing her own glazes to bring her artistic vision to life.
